Srinagar, September 23, 2026: Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Sujit Kumar, on Wednesday reviewed the overall security situation, counter-terrorism grid, law and order preparedness and crime scenario in Bandipora, stressing the need for public-friendly policing and heightened vigilance against emerging security challenges.
IGP Kashmir was accompanied by Deputy Inspector General, North Kashmir, Dr. Vinod Kumar.
During the review meeting, SSP Bandipora Ajaz Ahmed Zargar briefed the IGP on the district’s security situation, counter-terrorism measures, intelligence inputs, area domination, security of vulnerable locations, law and order preparedness and the prevailing crime scenario.
Emphasising the importance of strengthening people-friendly policing, IGP Kashmir directed officers to improve crime disposal mechanisms and enhance operational preparedness in line with field requirements.
Kumar called upon all ranks to maintain a high level of vigilance and ensure a prompt, coordinated and effective response to emerging security and law and order challenges.
The IGP also appreciated the dedication and professionalism displayed by police personnel and urged them to continue discharging their responsibilities with commitment and discipline to ensure the safety and security of the public.
