Srinagar, October 15, 2025 : Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to holistic growth and public welfare in Jammu and Kashmir, urging citizens to “judge this government after its five-year report card.”
He made the remarks during an extensive tour of the Chanpora Constituency in Srinagar, where he inspected several ongoing development projects alongside local legislator Mushtaq Ahmad Guroo.
Choudhary emphasized that the Omar Abdullah-led government is dedicated to ensuring equitable and sustainable development across all regions of J&K.
The Deputy CM reviewed works at the Community Centre Hyderpora, Marriage Hall Haranbal Natipora, the Bailey Bridge project at Chanpora, and the Rawalpora–Mocho Road widening. He also assessed progress on the Bund Road project from Chanpora to Natipora Junction.
He directed officials to expedite utility shifting, remove bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of all projects. He further instructed that construction of the Bailey Bridge be initiated at the earliest to boost local connectivity.
Inspecting macadamization works at Bagh-e-Mehtab, Choudhary warned of strict action against the use of substandard material or negligence.
Local delegations met the Deputy CM during his tour and lauded him for conducting on-ground inspections.
Senior officers, including Chief Engineer R&B Sushil Kumar, SEs from R&B, SMC, and Housing Departments, accompanied the Deputy CM.
