Baramulla, June 20, 2026 : The District Administration Baramulla has imposed restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, around 11 designated examination centres in the district to facilitate the smooth, secure, and transparent conduct of the NEET (UG)-2026 re-examination scheduled for June 21, 2026.
According to an order issued by District Magistrate Baramulla, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid (IAS), the restrictions will remain in force within a radius of 200 metres around all examination centres from 10:00 AM onwards until the conclusion of the examination.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct the NEET (UG)-2026 re-examination on June 21 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with an additional one hour allotted to candidates belonging to the Persons with Disabilities (PwD/PwBD) category.
As per the official order, only candidates carrying valid admit cards along with approved identity documents will be allowed entry into the examination centres. Examination personnel, including centre superintendents, invigilators, observers, frisking supervisors, videographers, and other authorised staff, will be permitted entry only after verification of their photo identity cards and biometric authentication wherever applicable.
To maintain the sanctity of the examination process, the administration has strictly prohibited the entry of any unauthorised individual within the restricted 200-metre zone surrounding the examination centres.
Candidates have also been directed not to carry mobile phones, smart devices, electronic gadgets, calculators, books, notes, written material, or any item that could facilitate unfair practices during the examination.
The order further prohibits the assembly of more than five persons around the examination centres and imposes a ban on the use of public address systems, loudspeakers, and similar sound-amplifying devices from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM on the day of the examination.
Officials stated that the restrictions have been imposed as a precautionary measure to prevent external interference, maintain public order, and ensure that the examination is conducted in a fair, transparent, and hassle-free environment for all candidates.
The restrictions, however, will not apply to law enforcement agencies, magistrates, emergency services, and personnel officially engaged in the conduct and supervision of the examination.
The district administration has warned that any violation of the order will invite legal action under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
Authorities have appealed to the public to cooperate with the administration and avoid unnecessary movement or gatherings near the examination centres to ensure the successful conduct of the national-level entrance examination.
