DODA, April 30, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has issued a strong warning against narcotics networks, declaring that drug traffickers in Jammu & Kashmir will be treated on par with terrorists under the law.
Speaking during the launch of the ‘Nasha Mukt J&K Abhiyan’ in Doda, the LG described drug abuse as “silent terrorism” that is destroying youth and destabilizing society.
⚠️ Strong Crackdown Underway
- 440 drug traffickers arrested
- 350 FIRs registered in the last 20 days
- Part of an ongoing 100-day anti-drug Drive
Sinha asserted that narcotics smuggling is “terrorism in disguise” and vowed strict legal action against all those involved.
🛡️ Zero Tolerance Policy
- Drug peddlers and syndicates will be identified and dismantled
- Authorities will ensure stringent punishment
- “We will not rest until these networks are wiped out,” the LG said
👥 Call for Jan-Andolan
Emphasizing public participation, Sinha urged:
- Citizens to break silence and report drug activities
- Schools, colleges, and social groups to join the movement
- Society to adopt a zero-tolerance mindset
He stressed that the fight cannot rely on government alone, as public awareness and vigilance are key to eliminating the menace.
⏳ Mission Ahead
With 80 days remaining in the campaign, the LG called for a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach to make Jammu & Kashmir a drug-free model for the nation.
