SRINAGAR, April 24, 2026 : Veteran Leader Farooq Abdullah on Friday expressed confidence that opposition parties will emerge victorious in ongoing Assembly elections across major states.
Speaking to reporters at Hazratbal Shrine, Abdullah claimed:
- Mamata Banerjee will win in West Bengal
- Indian National Congress will secure victory in Kerala
- M. K. Stalin’s Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) will win in Tamil Nadu
He described these anticipated victories as a “blessing,” reflecting public sentiment.
🌍 Call for Peace in Middle East
On global issues, Abdullah stressed the urgent need for peace in the Middle East, warning that prolonged conflict could have serious global consequences. He urged major powers, including the United States, China, and Russia, to act swiftly to end the war.
🚫 Fight Against Drug Menace
Commenting on the Centre’s anti-drug efforts, he highlighted that public participation is crucial in tackling substance abuse. According to him, government action alone is not enough—parents and communities must actively support the campaign to eliminate drugs.
