SRINAGAR, April 25, 2026 : In a strong action against drug trafficking, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has attached properties worth ₹3.5 crore belonging to alleged narcotics smugglers in Srinagar.

The action was carried out under the ongoing Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyaan as part of intensified efforts to dismantle drug networks.

🏠 Properties Attached

Acting through Sangam Police Station, authorities attached immovable assets linked to:

  • Shakeel Ahmad Ganie
  • Farooq Ahmad Mir

Both are residents of the Noorbagh–Kreshbal area.

The seized properties include:

  • A double-storey house with one kanal of land belonging to Ganie (valued at over ₹2 crore)
  • A double-storey house with one kanal of land belonging to Mir (valued at approximately ₹1.5 crore)

⚖️ Legal Action

The properties were attached under:

  • Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS Act), specifically Section 68F

Officials confirmed that these assets were illegally acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking.

🚫 Message from Authorities

This action underscores a zero-tolerance approach towards narcotics smuggling, with a clear focus on:

  • Targeting financial assets of traffickers
  • Breaking supply chains
  • Strengthening deterrence

The crackdown continues across Jammu and Kashmir as part of a broader strategy to eliminate the drug menace.
