SRINAGAR, April 25, 2026 : In a major security operation, the Counter Intelligence wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police recovered digital communication devices and incriminating material from inside the high-security Srinagar Central Jail.

Acting on credible intelligence inputs about suspicious digital activity, the Counter Intelligence Kashmir conducted extensive searches across multiple barracks and blocks in coordination with jail authorities.
During the operation:
- Several digital devices were seized
- Incriminating material was recovered
- Evidence pointing to possible illegal communication networks inside the जेल surfaced

The case, registered under provisions of the erstwhile IPC and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, has raised concerns about a major security lapse within the prison system.
