NEW DELHI, April 22, 2026 : On the first anniversary of the Pahalgam terror attack, top national leaders including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and leaders across political parties paid heartfelt tributes to the 26 victims, asserting that India will never bow to terrorism.
Remembering the innocent lives lost in the 2025 attack by Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, leaders emphasized that the nation stands united in grief and determination. The attack, which targeted tourists in Pahalgam, had triggered a strong military response under Operation Sindoor.
President Murmu expressed deep condolences to the bereaved families, stating that such acts cannot shake India’s commitment to peace and unity. Prime Minister Modi reiterated that the country remains firm and resolute, declaring that “the heinous designs of terrorists will never succeed.”
Union ministers, including Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, S Jaishankar, and Nitin Gadkari, echoed a strong zero-tolerance stance, underlining that any attempt to harm India’s unity will be met with decisive action.
Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other political leaders also paid tribute, stating that the nation will neither forget the victims nor forgive those responsible.
Reaffirming a unified stand, leaders across party lines stressed that terrorism remains the greatest threat to humanity and must be defeated collectively.
